REMOTE INTERNET ACCESS FAQs

1. How easy is it to set up the satellite dish?
Very easy. Turn on your computer, turn on the main satellite controller, click on the 'Find Satellite' button and the dish will automatically search and peak to lock onto the satellite to provide broadband internet access.
2. Do you have to dial up by phone to get online?
No phones are needed. Once the dish is aligned to the signal it supplies an always on, broadband internet connection with no per minute fees.
3. Is it easy to stow then reconnect the satellite dish when moving locations?
Yes it is. You can choose to control the dish manually or automatically stow if the vehicle moves which the unit recognises by looking at the GPS. Reconnection is simply the click of a button.
4. Can I connect any kind of computer to the system?
Yes, Windows and Macintosh users, as well as any TCP-IP based computers and devices may connect to the system.
5. Will a certified installed physically install the mobile dish?
Yes. A certified installer must install the system. ISAT LAN has professional mobile satellite installers nationwide to make your installation come off without a hitch.
6. Do I have to park to use the mobile dish?
Yes you must be parked. We find that this is not a major problem with many who are seeking broadband Internet connectivity in a mobile environment.
7. How does weather affect the dish?
It would have to be a heavy wind or rain to affect usability of the system. Transmission will be suspended if signal quality dips, which is rare and happens only in a very heavy downpour.
8. Does the system support VPN and VOIP?
Yes... but you may need a Public Routable IP address that are available from ISAT LAN.
